My Journey from Africa to Opening a Fiber Arts Center - Cael Chappell

October 11, 2025 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

First Baptist Church - 1003 W. Sixth St., Loveland CO

Join Cael Chappell as he presents an engaging slide show explaining how he ended up opening and owning Fiber Arts on 4th in the Albuquerque area. The story must start briefly in his childhood, then moving across Africa, to his personal basket weaving experiences, and now to opening a community fiber arts center.

Presenter Bio:

In 2002 Cael founded a fair trade project designed to support weavers and their families in rural Africa and still works at Baskets of Africa every day.  Fifteen years later he began winning awards for his own baskets.  Cael is also a coveted guest speaker and instructor, as well as the President of the National Basketry Organization.

Presentation follows general Guild meeting

Stop by for a visit. We are always eager to meet other fiber enthusiasts.
